Professional background leading to career in health and wellness: 

In a career that has focused on the role of communication in behavioral science, I have found myself drawn to issues related to health and wellbeing. Through my research and consulting work with health organizations, I have seen that many of the barriers to effective health outcomes can be minimized through better communication between patients and providers and through effective storytelling that cuts through persistent health myths, stigmas, and misinformation.

What reasons you are passionate about helping others: 

I believe everyone has their own continuum of what “good” health means for them and that there is always room to shift toward better health. I enjoy the process of helping others identify and remove obstacles to improving their health so that they can do the things that they love. I think this all starts with a caregiver sitting down with a patient and letting them tell their story. It is exciting for me to be a part of NPT HealthWorks because of these shared values.

What do you enjoy in your free time:

I enjoy a good movie, exploring a new city, and being outdoors. Most recently my daughter has been getting me on the climbing wall a couple of times a week.
