Mission for the Class

InnerStrength women’s fitness is a small group training class taught by Dr. Hannah Scanlon, DPT. Designed for women ages 40+, the class is catered to the needs of this population with goals of building strength, power, and endurance, as well as providing a safe environment to help you achieve your unique goals. Under the guidance of a Doctor of Physical Therapy, InnerStrength will increase your confidence in weight training by teaching you the proper form and technique to maximize results and minimize the risk of injury. The small group community atmosphere encourages accountability, support, positivity, as well as a bit of fun! All fitness levels are welcome, as each exercise can be adapted to meet you where you are.

Dates: New session begins every 10 weeks. Note: You may join class mid session.

Winter ‘25 Session: February 18, 2025 - April 25, 2025

Spring: May 20, 2025 - July 22, 2025

Summer: July 29, 2025 - October 3, 2025

Fall: TBD

Time: Tuesdays 7:30am, Friday 8:45am

  1. What are the benefits of strength training?

    • Research shows that strength training improves…

      • Bone and joint health, posture and balance, metabolism, functional strength and mobility, energy levels, mental health, weight management, sleep quality, confidence and body image, stress management

      • When part of a well rounded routine, strength training also has long term health benefits helping to prevent chronic disease 

  2. How does this class differ from other group training classes offered in the community? 

    • Instructed by a Doctor of Physical Therapy 

    • Education on exercise guidelines, form, modifications, proper recovery and injury prevention 

    • Small group setting allows for personalized attention, accountability, and support 

  3. What kind of exercise can I expect in this class?

    • The majority of the class consists of full body resistance training using equipment like dumbbells, Barbells, sleds, and medicine balls. Common exercises include squats, deadlifts, chest press, and rows. 

    • Power exercises using explosive movement like skipping, hopping, and squat jumps(can always be modified) 

  4. I haven’t worked out in a while, can I still participate? 

    • Yes! This is the ideal setting to start or get back into exercise! Each exercise can be modified for individuals within a group. 

  5. How many people can I expect in each class? 

    • About 6-8 people

  6. What is the price and schedule? 

    • $250 for a 10 class series. You can choose from Tuesdays at 7:30 am or Fridays at 8:45 am. You can also get a group of friends and work with Dr Hannah to make your own class!

  • 10 week session price: One class per week/10 classes total: $250  OR 2 classes per week/20 classes total: $500

  • Please note: This package of classes is only valid for this series of classes from May 20, 2025- July 25, 2025. Classes from this package cannot be saved for future series. This package is non refundable for the purpose of creating accountability, consistency and safe progression of exercise. 

  • FYI: If you miss class you may come to the other class as a make up at any point, pending availability in the class, just check in before doing a make up and I will confirm availability. 

  • Drop in Rate: Previous class members are aloud to do drop in's if you will be missing the majority of a session, $30 per class, unless otherwise specified. 

  • Payment ensures your class spot as spots are limited. Payment is due at the time of the first class. If you are joining a series late, we will pro-rate per class as needed.
