LIFTed Fitness
About The Class
LIFTed is a small group class designed for individuals who want to start lifting heavier weights and learn how to safely progress to bigger compound lifts. This class is instructed by a Doctor of Physical Therapy and structured in a progressive overload format to ensure proper form and safe progression of weight. In this class we will be using the bar for bigger lifts such as back squats, deadlifts, and bench press; but all new lifts are approached in a less intimidating way to make sure everyone feels comfortable progressing.

What kind of exercise can I expect in this class?
Class is designed for individuals who want to start lifting heavier weights and learn how to safely progress bigger compound lifts. In class, you can expect to be working on the big lifts - think back squats, deadlifts, bench press, etc. Weeks will build on each other so that we can prioritize proper form and control as we increase load.
I’ve never weight lifted before, is that ok?
Yes! This class is designed to build on itself week after week and begins with foundational components of heavier lifting such as mobility, form, breathing, and core bracing. All participants will be monitored for form by a physical therapist throughout the session and progression of weight will only occur if the participant demonstrates satisfactory foundational components and it is safe to do so.
Can in join in mid-session?
Due to the progressive nature of this class, it is important to start at the beginning of the series to get the proper foundation of lifting prior to progressing your lifts. Exceptions will be made on a case by case basis
