Mission for the Class
Mamas in Motion NPT is a fitness community built for pregnant and postpartum Moms in our local community. The idea behind the group is to create a space for moms to come together, support one another, and both continue and return to exercise even stronger than before. Moms face a unique set of challenges, and there are not nearly enough resources available to us, especially when it comes to working out. Our goal is to create small group training sessions in a supportive and judgment free environment using evidence based practices specifically designed for pregnant and postpartum women. As Physical Therapists, we combine our expert knowledge on the body with continued education on the prenatal and postpartum changes to curate and adjust class for all levels, timelines, and abilities. Together, we are embracing our changed bodies, we are nurturing our inner strength, and we are moving forward TOGETHER!
Dr. Liz will schedule an intake call with each Mama to gather background information, discuss anything specific prenatal or postpartum considerations, and answer any questions.

Dates: Mamas in Motion is built as a progressive 10-week series. Typically, Mamas come 1x/week, but if you are interested in a 2x/week option please mention that to Dr. Liz! YES, you may join in the middle of a session!

Fee: $250/10 class session: 1 class per week for 10 weeks

FAQs
Is exercise safe during pregnancy?! I’m reading so many conflicting things on social media!
YES! Exercise is absolutely recommended during pregnancy and plays a crucial role in avoiding deconditioning and helping to lower the risk of complications throughout your pregnancy. Dr. Liz is an expert in this space, and educates mamas all about this over the course of class. We are definitely movement focused, meeting each mama where they are! *If you are experiencing complications that might change your ability to exercise, Dr. Liz can help you navigate these over the course of the series*
Can I join late or depart early based on my pregnancy or postpartum timeline?
YES! Please fill out the form and connect with Dr. Liz to figure out when the best time to join or depart class is for you. We can pro-rate costs based on timeline as needed.
How early postpartum can I start class?
Dr. Liz is an expert on prenatal and postpartum exercise, and is comfortable working with Mamas as soon as they are ready for movement. Exercises can be progressed and regressed to ensure all mamas feel comfortable. For some, this is as early as 4 weeks and for others it is a bit later. My kids are "old"! Can i still join class?
YES! Postpartum is truly forever, and we are here for all mamas no matter how old your little ones are!
My little one is moving around, can I still bring him to class?
YES! We welcome children of all ages, with the understanding that each mama is still responsible for their own child. We have blocks to climb on and things to play with, but bring anything you need for you little one!
I want to come to class, but I’m not sure how my little one will do and I’m nervous they will cry all class?!
That’s the best part about Mamas in Motion! All the classes are full of moms who totally get it. We have all been there, and are here to support you. Plus, Dr. Liz can switch up exercises so you can complete them holding babe or even with babe in a carrier!
